Palm Beach County Information


Palm Beach County has much to offer from the tropical temperatures to the long and sun filled days to the coastal waters.  Summers could be the most relaxing time to visit Palm Beach County since Winter brings a lot of seasonal visitors.

Florida (nicknamed:  The Sunshine State):  Acquired from Spain in 1821, it contains the countrys oldest permanent settlement in St. Augustine. Florida's slogan:  In God We Trust.  State Flag:  The seal of the state is in the center of a white background.  Red bars extent from each corner toward the center to the outer rim of the seal.  State Mammels:  The manatee or sea cow is Florida state marine mammal and the porpoise is the state saltwater mammel.

Population of Palm Beach County as of 2005 was 1,167,700.

Boynton Beach - Perfect for kicking back and relaxing, raising a family, retiring or working.  Visitors or residents can take a cruise, walk on the beach, go boating, scuba dive, water ski, go tubing, play golf, play tennis, shop, eat out, the options are endless! 

This area provides a multitude of cultural centers.  Food lovers will find the international cuisine most interesting and shopoholics will find many area malls, boutiques, and shopping strips to choose from.

Delray Beach - Rated an All American City - Quaint boutiques and shops neighbor eateries and cafes.  This area is extremely trendy.  Downtown Delray is very delightful and was recently revitalized. 

Lake Worth - Lake Worth features a 1000 foot pier to take a stroll on.  It also features newer family developments such as Lake Charleston, Winston Trails, Journey's End, Smith Farm, Savannah Estates, Vellaggio, Bellagio, just to name a few in the "west" part of Lake Worth.  Looking for older, quaint homes, then parts Lake Worth is it!

West Palm Beach -  Home of City Place, the Harriet Himmel Gilman Theater and Clematis Street.  If city life is what you are looking for, you have found it! City Place is a mix of commercial and residential use.  Great for the city lover!!

Wellington - Known for its newer mall, horseback riding, hometown feeling, 20 parks, polo tournaments and more.

Schools - Palm Beach County has county schools, not town schools.  Families moving to this area should consult the Palm Beach County School Board for information concerning the school and the boundaries.
